Butler University has released plans for a proposed new student housing building to be located on the current Irwin Library surface parking lot (see photos below). Butler University has announced upcoming public meetings to discuss the proposed new student housing building. The dates are:

  • Tuesday, August 26, 2014:  6:00pm-7:30pm (Health Recreation Center- Conference Room)
  • Wednesday, August 27, 2014: 7:15am-8:30am (Health Recreation Center- Conference Room)
  • Tuesday, September 23, 2014:  6:00pm-7:30pm (Health Recreation Center-Conference Room)
  • Wednesday, September 24, 2014:  7:15am-8:30am (Health Recreation Center- Conference Room)
  • Wednesday, October 29, 2014:  7:15am-8:30am (Health Recreation Center- Conference Room)
  • Thursday, October 30, 2014:  6:00pm-7:30pm (Health Recreation Center- Conference Room)

The Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood Association (BTNA) is accepting public comment on the proposed new student housing building. Please forward comments in writing via mail or email by Friday, September 5, 2014 at 5:00pm. 

Butler University previously presented on the proposed student housing building at the BTNA August monthly meeting on August 11. At the BTNA September, the BTNA Board will vote at the BTNA September monthly meeting on September 8 whether to support or oppose the garage. There will be NO public comments taken at the September 8 meeting as there are other neighborhood items on the agenda to discuss.
