- Keep Indianapolis Beautiful is seeking grant applications for tree plantings in Butler-Tarkington. In particular, the organization has identified Graceland Avenue from 38th Street to 46th Street as particularly suited to 50 or more new trees, but volunteers need to fill out the paperwork for the program. The deadline to apply for the 2017 Community Forestry program is July 8, 2016. Take a look at kibi.org for more information or to fill out the application.
- A Butler-Tarkington Homecoming Event is in its early planning stage. Plans include a community worship service on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, and a party at School 43 on Saturday, Sept. 17.
