BTNA / KIB TREE PLANTING THIS SATURDAY ON 4/8

As noted in an earlier message, on April 8th we will be planting trees on Graceland Ave. between 38th and 42nd street.  The planting will take place between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.  We plan to meet at School 43 and head over to Graceland at 8:45.  We aim to plant about 100 trees on that stretch.  KIB has agreed to maintain the trees for 3 years while they mature, so this is a great opportunity for the neighborhood.  There are still spots available to register!  You can sign up for the event by clicking on the following link.

MAYOR’S OFFICE LISTENING SESSION AT NEXT MONDAY’S BTNA MEETING

At next Monday’s BTNA Meeting (4/10 at the MLK Center at 6:30 p.m.), our Mayor’s Neighborhood Advocate Joel Smith will be holding a listening session designed to identify the things people love about their neighborhoods as well as the types of places, uses, and amenities that are desired in different types of neighborhoods and other districts.  This input will help inform city planners as they rework the City’s comprehensive plan.  It is a way for communities to give their input.

Joel will posit three questions that he would like neighborhood feedback on:

1. What do you like about your neighborhood?

2. What’s missing in your neighborhood?

3. What’s the one thing you would add to your neighborhood that would make you the most happy?

Please consider attending next Monday’s meeting and come prepared to give feedback on these questions.
